F.A.I.T.H. Riders

The acronym stands for Forgiveness, Available, Impossible, Turn and Heaven. The command of God implores us as we “go into all the world we are to preach the Gospel to all creation” (Mark 16:15); the F.A.I.T.H. Riders take this calling seriously as the lifeblood of its existence and passion. This is a ministry, not a riding club or gang, and our sole purpose is to share the life-changing Good News by equipping the saints to engage in practical ministry opportunities.

Reach Out Ministry

Welcome to the Reach Out ministry of Grover Park Baptist Church. We meet at 4:00 every first and third Sunday of each month to visit people in our community with the good news of Jesus Christ. We go door to door sharing how God provides the way to be saved from our sins. If you would like to join in helping our community please contact us to learn more.

Womens Ministry

Please feel free to contact us via e-mail at gpbcwomen@gmail.com. You may also call Debbie Weigand, at 909-4930 or Linda Hargenrader, at 747-0777 if you have any questions, or are interested in becoming a part of the Women’s Ministry.

Is there a loved one in your life whose relationship with the Heavenly Father is in need of restoration? Are you prayerfully awaiting that prodigal’s reunion with the Father? Many of us have a relative or friend who has moved away from the Heavenly Father’s house in search of worldly satisfaction. We invite you to join us in focused prayer as we, through faith, look forward to his/her homecoming. What started as a prayer group for Parents Of Prodigals (P.O.P) has expanded to include prayer cover for any person God has given us a burden to pray for, especially those who have strayed from their relationship with the LORD and who are walking in their own way. Prayers for Prodigals is Wednesdays 12:00-1:00 p.m in front of the Church Sanctuary.

Military

Terry and Karen Sligh were transferred to Whiteman Air Force Base in 2010, having come from Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Whiteman was their first duty move. With this first duty move came lots of questions, stress and of course change. One of their first priorities was to find a new church home. Living away from family and friends made finding a place where they belonged and could serve very important. After visiting various area churches a neighbor invited them to visit Grover Park. After just one visit they new they had found where the Lord wanted them to be.

Terry and Karen know that the military life can be an uncertain one and know that the anchor of the Lord and a church family make this uncertainty easier to manage. Because of all that has been revealed to them through their military experience they feel led to minister to the military.

Terry & Karen are helping to design a military ministry at Grover Park that understands the unique needs of military personnel.  This includes singles and the military family.  In the very transient world of the military they want you to have a church that understands your needs and is striving to not only make you feel welcome in the Lord’s house but to help provide services and programs to help enrich your life.

Grover Park Baptist On Mission

“The Great Commission”  is accomplished through witnessing (Acts 1:8) preaching (Mark 16:15), baptizing and teaching (Matthew 28:20). The Holy Spirit is the empowering agent for those who witness (Acts 1:8) as well as the one who convicts sinners of their need for Jesus (John 16:8-11).
All peoples, by faith, can receive God’s provision and are baptized into Christ.

On June 3, 2017 at 4:30 we will be going to Kansas City Rescue Mission.

We are going to be helping with Game night at the Men’s Center.  We have done this before and found it to be a great time of fellowship visiting with the guys listening to their testimonies.  We should be back to Warrensburg by 8:30 unless we stop for ice cream!! If interested in going please contact me at
(660) 238-6501. We will meet in the church parking lot at 4:15.  We will also be taking items to the center.  If you would choose to help with this, we need, men’s underwear, all sizes and new, men’s deodorant, travel size shave cream, and new water bottles. If you would rather we can purchase items, you can give money. Thank all of you in advance. Please have items to church office by June 2nd.

We are also going to send Pastor Mark Wigginton, notes and letters of encouragement the first part of June.  If you would like to write to him, please have the items to the church office by June 5th.  Please continue to hold him up in prayer as he goes to serve our country.

We will be sending him care packages every 6 wks. While he is deployed.

I will post the dates we are going to send packages to him as the time goes.

This is just an F.Y.I. for each of you.  Our Amazing, Monica Fox, is going to make her famous Cinnamon Rolls again for Haiti.  The money donated will go to Grace Christian School In Mare Rouge, Haiti.  Pastor Wisny, is the principal at the school.  This year they had 191 students. The money raised with the rolls will go to the school.  They need more classrooms to enable more children to have the gift of an education.  At present they would like to add four more rooms.  This school is supported in many areas by Grover Park Baptist Church.  J.C.C.A. is the Sister School to Grace Christian School. Our prayer is that the enrollment at the school will continue to increase giving families a future.  More information will follow as to the dates. Orders will be taken, but just a little hint it may be the end of this month or first of July. She is going to make a 100 dozen so it will be first come first served etc.  This is Monica’s Ministry and she is doing great things with it.  Whoop – Whoop , Monica.
