Pastor Randy’s Word for the Week ~ 5/22/2017
Sunday was a beautiful day which led to a beautiful service of praise to our Lord. Our series through the Book of Revelation is moving right along, and this Sunday we will be looking at Rev 3:7-13. It was great to have Sharon Lillard come forward in the second service to join the church on the confession of her faith in Christ for baptism. Next Sunday we will be baptizing Joel Korman
Last Memory Monday meets today at 2:30 p.m. in The Park for the final session this spring. This ministry is always a great time of receiving help with school homework, playing games, memorizing Scripture, sharing a great snack and time of fellowship with the other students. What a semester of valuable instruction and fellowship!
The Journey will be meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m. to head over to Rhonda McKee’s house for or a great meal and a discussion as they begin a new series in the Book of Psalms. Specifically, they will be looking at “Psalms of Lament” from Ps 3 & 5. Pastor Brent will be teaching the study.
Attention Sunday School Workers and Leaders: This Tuesday night on May 23rd there will be a Life Workshop at 6:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center for all of our workers in Sunday School. I am really looking forward to hearing him for the first time. Next Wednesday night on May 31st, the Wilbanks family will be sharing with us a report of their most recent mission work in England. As always, Wednesday Night Live (WNL) will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the Children’s Center, and the youth will meet in their Huddle Groups from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. Next Wednesday night, May 31st, will be our last Wednesday night supper and service until August as we take our usual summer break.

Help Needed: We need your help in serving the Lord in our Preschool Ministry. We have two open positions at 9:00 a.m. in the 4’s and 5’s class, and we need one volunteer at 10:30 a.m. in the 2’s and 3’s class, and two volunteers in the 4’s and 5’s class. People who volunteer will serve in three month intervals for which you will receive orientation and training. Call or text Pastor Brent at (660) 909-2699 for more information. We do have substitutes for all of our volunteers when anyone has to be away.
Important Ministry Team Meeting: On Wednesday night, May 31st, we will be having our main planning session for Freedom Spectacular. It is important that everyone be there so that we can get everything planned for July 4th.
Special Memorial Day Service: On May 28th we will be having a special Memorial Day Service as we honor our veterans and our loved ones who have gone to be with the Lord. We will have a special presentation of the Flag along with a “quiet moment” of remembering our loved ones during the playing of Taps.
